Welcome to the Endless Mountains Writing Project
The Endless Mountains Writing Project is located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Country at Mansfield University. Our site, better known as EMWP, has been in existence for seven years now. In that time, we have had the opportunity to train sixty local teachers to be better writers. EMWP fellows have presented at many different conferences such as the Rural Sites Network (RSN), National Council of Teacher of English (NCTE) and the National Writing Project Conference (NWP). As an affiliate of the National Writing Poject, we are proud to be able to offer many opportunities to our local teachers, which in turn they take back to the classroom to strengthen their students' writing skills.
Why Would I Want To Be In The EMWP?
Every Summer the Endless Mountains Writing Project promotes better writing in our area schools by offering a summer writing institute. The Summer Institute equips teachers to be better writers and educators. At the Summer Institute teachers learn content area writing strategies while enhancing their own writing and developing presentations that they present at teacher in-service trainings and conferences. EMWP also promotes writing in our region through an annual writing contest, Voice of the Twin Tiers and other writing events.
